In early July, the Eurekaweek board was still over the moon that their ‘dream scenario’ was coming true. However, reality and rapidly rising corona infections overtook those plans. “The whole week will remain super fun and large scale“, promised president Kirsten Prins at the time. Eurekaweek lives up to that promise, but large-scale parties require participants to test for entry and there are fixed seating areas. The beer cantus is thus saved, but for the other evenings an alternative plan has been devised.

The Eurekaweek board got the green light last Thursday: The introduction week can go…

Battle of the Faculties and Guilty Pleasure Party

The traditional Monday night opening party in the Maassilo will be replaced by the Battle of the Faculties. An ‘epic game show’, according to the Eurekaweek organisation. The Battle, like the opening on Monday morning, will take place in Ahoy. Getting to know Rotterdam’s nightlife is normally the main focus on the Wednesday evening. This is not possible this year due to the corona measures. Instead, the Guilty Pleasure Party has been devised where students will play music bingo, among other things.

The closing Night of the Songs is the last event of the week, also in the modified program. The location has changed, though. This year the party will be in two shifts at the stadium of baseball club Neptunus.
