No joint introduction week for vocational, applied sciences and university students for now
There will be no joint introduction week for all students in Rotterdam for the time being. According to the municipal executive, vocational education institutions have no need for one.

The municipality sees no reason to look into a joint introduction week for vocational (mbo), applied sciences (hbo) and university students. This is clear from answers to questions from councillors submitted by Volt about the inclusivity of Eurekaweek. In some other cities, students from an increasing number of educational institutions can take part in introduction activities. In Rotterdam, students from universities of applied sciences are now welcome at Eurekaweek, but few have taken up the offer. Last year, fifty students from universities of applied sciences took part in the university’s introduction week.
According to the municipal executive, vocational education institutions currently have no need for their students to take part in Eurekaweek. Instead, the institutions want to improve their own introduction weeks. The council stresses that the institutions themselves are responsible for organising introduction weeks for new students.
