VVD and D66 get most votes at Woudestein polling station

Gepubliceerd op:

Just as in the parliamentary elections in 2017 and the municipal elections of 2018, the VVD (the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, conservative-liberals) and D66 (Democrats ’66, social-liberals) won by far the most votes in the Provincial Elections on Wednesday 20 March on Woudestein campus. The two parties received support from 32 and 27 percent respectively of the 809 voters (there were three invalid ballots) in C hall.

GroenLinks (Green Left) also did well, with 121 votes, around 15 percent of all the votes cast on campus. Forum voor Democratie (conservative and populist right-wing), which received the most votes nationally, was much less popular here. With 49 votes, around 6 percent, this party was fourth on Woudestein campus. 62 percent of the Provincial Election votes went to a woman.

Water authority elections

Voters on campus could also vote for Hoogheemraadschap Schieland and Krimpenerwaard in the regional water authority elections. With 292 of the 748 votes, Water Natuurlijk was the biggest water board on campus, followed by the VVD with 256 votes. 5 percent of the ballot papers were blank.
