Reyhan tips this week are about PIP Den Haag on Friday and HangOver Sundays in BAR on Sunday.
Reyhan Cigdem shares with you the best parties and activities for students. As third year criminology student, she really knows Rotterdam. Enjoying everything that’s on offer to the full, she goes simply everywhere and to as many parties as possible. She shares her passion with you here every week with a personal selection of the very best that Rotterdam has to offer.
HangOver SunDays
Chill Try chilling out on Sundays in BAR on HangOver SunDays. After a week of work, studying and partying, most of us don’t want to do much more than sleep all day on Sundays (and eat and then sleep again). As soon as you start feeling yourself again it’s already evening and what could be better than to finish the weekend in style at BAR? Starting from 6.00 p.m. you can chill out, hang out, dance, join in gaming and there’s also comedy, art and food. Last week FERRY offered something similar and here too they take into account the fact that the next day is a working day for most of us, as it closes at just 1.00 a.m.
BAR has now become a well-known location. It’s not the first or last time that I’ll be writing about it. BAR was founded in 2011 with the aim of bringing back the liveliness and energy to forgotten places in Rotterdam. They’ve been really successful in this and have now opened a second location in the Schieblock, a creative meeting point with other top locations, such as Annabel and Biergarten. In short – it’s the place to be!

Bahn neukt met PIP
HardestThis week I’m giving a tip about an event outside Rotterdam, in The Hague. Not entirely without reason, because it’s a collaboration between Rotterdam’s Bahn and PIP Den Haag. Although, I have to say that Bahn now no longer exists. It was one of the places to be in Rotterdam, but I’ll not go into that too much otherwise we’ll get sentimental. It’s better to focus on the future and particularly on this Friday evening. PIP Den Haag is located just ten minutes’ walk from both Central Station and Hollands Spoor, in the shadow of The Hague’s industry and is a cultural stage with a rough edge. So it shouldn’t be a surprise for friends of the former Bahn that Bahn started collaborating with PIP; they each have a very similar concept. So, if you’re feeling sentimental about your Bahn memories, you’ll really enjoy PIP.
Bahn neukt met PIP// Friday 22 April from 11.00 p.m. // PIP Den Haag // entrance € 9.50
