Number of first year students remains virtually unchanged

This academic year the Erasmus University welcomed one percent more first year students than the year before. This places the university just above national average, according to figures from the Association of Universities (VSNU).
The total number of new students in the Netherlands remained virtually unchanged. This is mainly due to international students, more of them came to the Netherlands than in previous years. The number of Dutch high school students that enrolled at university fell.
Tilburg University
Tilburg University is the rising star, their number of students grew by over 25 percent. The universities of Maastricht and Eindhoven also saw their number of students increase, both grew by 8 percent. The biggest losers are the universities in Amsterdam. VU University had 12 percent fewer registrations and the University of Amsterdam saw their number of students decrease by 11 percent.
