Grand opening: Annabel

This weekend the live music venue Annabel on Schiestraat will be celebrating the opening of its brand new concert hall. Former ‘slut-central’ Hollywood Music Hall was boarded up for a year for renovations, and hopefully this has managed to exorcise the stench of Flügels and pitchers of sangria.

Michel of Annabel: “Friday will start with drinks in the bar, and 11 p.m. is the official opening of the new concert hall. After that, the gentlemen of Octave One from the USA will be playing into the wee hours of the morning. We expect a massive turnout and a truly epic party.”

Sneak peek

On Thursday evening we could already get a sneak peek of the hall with Niko., a well-known club night that was hosted in Blender before. Niko. and Annabel are both looking to spread their wings, with a larger venue and excellent DJs like Beau Zwart, Ben Fresh and Jeff Solo.

And on Sunday it’s Niko. again – but this time in partnership with Yardbird. Together, they’ll be presenting a new event: ‘Tears’. Two of Rotterdam’s leading club nights will be joining forces for an evening of hot hip hop, raw house and international luminaries like Benji B and Oneman.
