The police are still investigating an incident which took place last Thursday, during which a man fell down the stairs in the Mandeville building.
The man may have been pushed. During the incident, he fell several metres and lost consciousness. Although he was injured, he did not require hospital treatment.
Anonymous letters
The victim lectures in Public Administration. Because the police are considering the possibility that this involved a criminal offence, an investigation has been launched into the incident and the circumstances. It is known that last year the victim was involved in ‘incidents’ which included receiving anonymous letters, according to EUR spokesperson Sandra van Beek.
Van Beek will not provide any further details regarding the sender of the letters or the precise nature of the incidents. Nor is it certain whether they are related to the fall down the stairs.
