New member of the Executive Board comes from ABN Amro

Roelien Ritsema van Eck, third member of the Executive Board

Roelien Ritsema van Eck was appointed as the third member of the Executive Board of the Erasmus University on 1 November. She succeeds Eddy Hus, who has held this position as interim since June 1, 2017. Ritsema van Eck comes from ABN Amro and is currently director Real Estate & Facility Management.
Ritsema van Eck (1975) was appointed by the Supervisory Board for a period of four years. Within the Executive Board, she is resonsible for Operations (finance, economic policy, sites and buildings and information facilities). And will, among other things, carry out the reorganization of the University Support Center.

Improving operations
Furthermore, according to the university, she will be ‘responsible for the further development of digital support, the further improvement of the quality of the business operations and the linking of that business with the (strategic) objectives for education, research and valorisation’.
Roelien Ritsema van Eck has worked at ABN Amro since 1999, where she held various positions. Ritsema van Eck studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen and International Management at Oxford Brookes University. The new member of the board is a member of the Supervisory Board of Zorggroep Sint Maarten as well as a member of the Board of Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg. Roelien Ritsema van Eck is in a relationship and has three daughters.
