The new International Student Barometer (ISB) ranks Erasmus University as the most multicultural university in the Netherlands. And of the 159 universities surveyed worldwide, EUR is in third place. However, there is less satisfaction among Rotterdam internationals with their financial situation.
Every year, the firm i-graduate conducts a survey among international students about their university. Among the Dutch universities, Erasmus University comes second overall with a satisfaction level of 90 percent.
EUR mainly performs well when it comes to lectures: 92 percent of students are satisfied with the use of English by lecturers, 94 percent assess the knowledge of these lecturers as good and the content of the lectures gets a score of 90 percent satisfaction.
Fun!
The social aspect is another strong factor in favour of Rotterdam as a city for international students. EUR is one of the top worldwide when it comes to making friends and the ‘international classroom’. The university also scores well with regard to security, as do most of the other Dutch universities.
A less favourable aspect of studying in Rotterdam is finance. The cost of renting rooms, opportunities to earn money and financial support receive 44, 36 and 31 percent satisfaction. This puts the university nearly at the bottom of the list worldwide. It is also difficult for international students to find a room in Rotterdam.
Onderzoek
