University students speak up against evening classes

The news that Wageningen University is going to schedule evening classes (from seven to nine) starting from the next academic year did not go unnoticed. On Thursday, two-hundred students gathered within the university premises to protests against the upcoming schedule changes.
Although Rector Arthur Mol sees no alternative to insure a smarter schedule, students are not enthusiastic. The fear is that evening classes might negatively influence extracurricular activities such as team sports trainings or side jobs.
No protests for Erasmus University
According to Jacco Neleman from the Media Relations Office at Erasmus University, Erasmus has never experienced any aversion concerning the courses schedule. The university has been scheduling classes until seven pm for a couple of years and so far there hasn’t been any complaints. For now, Erasmus University does not seem interested in following Wageningen’s lead towards later classes.
