Keuzegids: 15 ‘excellent’ master’s programmes in higher education

According to students, fifteen master’s programmes in higher education stand out from the rest, the Keuzegids (Choice guide) reports. They scored top marks in all categories: content, lecturers, assessment, atmosphere and preparation for the career. Two master’s programmes from Rotterdam are included.

Like last year, the master’s programmes in the fields of economics & business and law & governance are performing well, according to the new Keuzegids Masters.

The TIAS School for Business and Society, located in Utrecht and Tilburg, again features five ‘excellent’ master’s programmes in the list. Students have to pay a hefty fee: the tuition for the 19 master’s programmes at TIAS amounts to an average of over 35,000 euros per year.

The publicly funded universities of Maastricht and Tilburg each have two top master’s programmes. The Erasmus University also offers two: Labour Law (ESL) and Corporate Communication (RSM). Last year, three master’s programmes from Rotterdam received the maximum score; International Management (RSM) is no longer included this time.

No ranking of institutions

The choice guide bases its master’s guide solely on student evaluations from the National Student Survey, conducted in spring 2024. Unlike undergraduate programmes, no figures are available on dropout rates and study pace. Therefore, the editorial team does not create a ranking of institutions with the best master’s programmes.
