EM TV: Online pornography on Valentine’s Day
Cultural sociologist Samira van Bohemen of the Erasmus Love Lab investigates stereotypes in online pornography. She will study the social context of sex and desire. “We can place these stereotypes in a broader social context,” she says. “For example, some stereotypes stem from a history of inequality. Just look at how Asian women are stereotyped as exotic and that Black men have large genitalia, these stereotypes stem from colonialism.”
Also in this episode: love priest Pauline gets people to confess their love stories, reporter Nora asks students how they deal with contraceptives, and Sabina asks students about their skincare routine.
