Who to vote for? These three students are candidates in Rotterdam
Studying and politics? Students Mina, Jasper and Friso think it is important that students are represented in municipal and district councils. That is why they have put themselves forward as candidates in Wednesday’s elections.
Mina Morkoç has the best chances to get a seat in the Rotterdam City Council as a student. She is standing for GroenLinks at number 5.
Jasper Klasen, who is a candidate for D66, would only be able to get a seat with enough preferential votes. He is number 18 on his party’s list.
Friso van Gruijthuijsen does not necessarily want to be a member of the Rotterdam council, but rather of the Kralingen district council. On behalf of the VVD, he hopes to finally represent students in the district where the university and many student houses are located.
