Christmas tree buckles under strong wind

Last Friday night, the top part of the large Christmas tree at Erasmus Plaza bent through. Fortunately, nothing worse happened: on its way down, the heavy star ornament that tops off the crown got stuck in the Christmas lights.
The incident was caused by the strong winds on Friday night. On Monday, employees of the Christmas tree company Avontuur worked hard to restore the tree to its original splendour.
This is the first time a Christmas tree has been set up at Erasmus Plaza. It was paid for by Erasmus School of Economics – which explains the ribbons in the faculty colour.
