Campus Talk: ‘I think the smoking ban is stupid’
From 1 August 2020 there will be a total ban on smoking around campus Woudestein, while smoking around Erasmus MC is already prohibited. The smoking policy on Woudestein has become more strict since last month: smoking is now only allowed in five zones. The zones can be found at the Tinbergen Building, the K.P. van der Mandeleplein, Tinbergen Plaza, at the Baylegebouw and next to the library pond.
What do students think of the smoking zones and the upcoming smoking ban? And will they smoke less after the ban? Not everyone is happy. “I don’t think it’s the university’s job to tell us whether or not we should smoke.”
