Provisional positive recommendation for Delft bachelor’s in Rotterdam
The new bachelor’s Health and Technology from TU Delft has received a provisional positive assessment from the evaluation panel of accreditation organisation NVAO, according to the Delft university paper Delta. The bachelor’s is an important part of plans for a campus in Rotterdam and is due to start in 2027.

De TU Delft
The Health and Technology programme is a collaboration between five faculties of TU Delft, Erasmus MC and Erasmus University. Students are trained to become engineers who can develop technological innovations and system changes in healthcare. In time, the bachelor’s should attract around 150 first-year students annually.
Campus Rotterdam
For some time, TU Delft has had plans for a Rotterdam campus, in collaboration with Erasmus MC and Erasmus University. The campus is meant to grow into a new branch of the university in Rotterdam, ‘where education, research and collaboration with partners are central’.
The technical university has a first physical location in Rotterdam: in the Groot Handelsgebouw workspaces have been set up for staff of the programme team, together with the municipality of Rotterdam and other partners. The space has been made available by the municipality to support the development of the campus.
The expansion remains a subject of debate within the technical university. According to Delta, staff and students are divided over the plans, mainly because of concerns about the financial risks and the scale of the investments.
