Exams and classes cancelled because of heat

Erasmus University is cancelling all exams and teaching on Friday because of the heat. Most buildings on campus Woudestein are also closed today.

Because of the weather warnings, code red due to the heat, Erasmus University has decided to cancel lectures and exams, the Executive Board announced by email on Thursday evening. Exams that were due to take place on Friday will be rescheduled.

All outdoor activities and events are also cancelled. PhD defences will go ahead, as will teaching at RSM bv.

Staff are advised to work from home. Most buildings are closed. The Erasmus Building, the Polak Building, the University Library and the RSM section of the Bayle building are open today. The car park and the childcare centre are also open.

The KNMI has issued code red because of the high temperatures in most provinces. The advice is to avoid the sun as much as possible, seek cooling, drink plenty of water and be aware of signs of dehydration and heat-related complaints.
