Due to the continued snowfall and disruptions in public transport, exams have also been cancelled on Wednesday. Classes will continue, but leniency will apply for students who are unable to participate.

The university urges students and staff to come to campus only if this is necessary and safe. Staff can work from home in consultation with their supervisor.

Exams cancelled

The university has decided to cancel exams on Wednesday. Teaching will continue; whether this takes place online or in person differs per faculty. Students who cannot attend an in-person class will be granted leniency.

Not all universities

Leniency does not apply at all universities. At Radboud University Nijmegen, exams and teaching will continue. Students and staff there are advised to arrange alternative means of transport to reach the campus. At Delft University of Technology, teaching and exams will also continue, and there is no advice to work from home.

Mailroom closed, limited IT services

The buildings on the Woudestein campus will remain open. Only the Mailroom and Facilities Management services will be closed. As a result, there will be no postal or logistics services on Wednesday. The IT service desk counter will be staffed on a limited basis and will close at 4:00 p.m., but will remain reachable by phone, email, and the service portal. On Monday and Tuesday, there were complaints about cold conditions in the Sanders Building because the heating was not functioning properly. This issue has now been resolved. Students and staff can contact the service desk if they notice that the temperature still does not rise sufficiently.

Daily advice

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued an orange weather warning for Wednesday. The university is following this advice and will make a daily decision on whether teaching and exams will go ahead. An announcement about tomorrow will follow later today.

Update Wednesday, 1:00 p.m.

The exams scheduled for Thursday will, for now, go ahead, as less snowfall is expected. If conditions worsen and exams cannot take place, students will receive a personal notification by sms on Thursday morning.

Leniency will also apply on Thursday for students who are unable to participate in mandatory education due to weather conditions or disruptions in public transport.

A decision on whether exams on Friday and Saturday will go ahead will be made on Thursday afternoon.
