The situation happened at the Wijnhaven building, next to The Hague Central Station. The university’s site stated that students and staff were requested not to come to that location. At other buildings of the university in The Hague, student or staff passes were checked.
A spokesperson informed that the university would not share more information about the nature of the risk. According to The Hague police, one car was deployed containing several officers.
The site is home to seven studies, serving 3,500 students. Among the offerings are studies such as security studies and international criminal law. The building was opened again on Sunday night. The university didn’t disclose what the reason for the closure was.
