Do you know a student who is always there for everyone? Or someone who has achieved something remarkable within the study, outside the study, in the student association community or anywhere else in this world? If the student’s efforts are selfless and in the interests of society, you can reward them with a nomination for Student of the Year.

Sandra Garstka is winner of the Student of the Year election

"Wow!" That was the first word that Sandra Garstka uttered when presenters Tessa Hofland…

Is there a student who always offers a listening ear within your association? Someone who brought groceries when the whole student house was ill? Maybe you know a student who is dedicated to combat climate change, to prevent loneliness, to help people in poverty or something completely different. What someone is dedicated to doesn’t matter. You can nominate one student, not a group.

The period to nominate has ended.

What's next?

Who will succeed Sandra Garstka as Student of the Year? We will know the answer to that question after the live show on 31 May. After the nomination round closes, a jury consisting of staff and students will look at the entries. This year’s jury consists of:

  •  Sandra Gartska, winner Student of the Year 2022
  •  Jos van der Geest, lecturer of the year at Erasmus MC
  •  Nizar El Manouzi, student and host of documentary tv show for children Klokhuis
  •  Samira van Bohemen, project leader Erasmus Love Lab
  •  Martine Wierenga, director International Office

They will select the five students who will go through to the public round. On 4 May, the online voting boxes will open. These votes are one-third of final election result. The jury vote counts for one third and the votes in the Pavilion on 31 May also count for one third.

What can be won?

In addition to eternal glory, the Student of the Year will receive a cash prize and a trophy.
