EM TV: Looking back on ‘the year of the student’
Less focus on excellence and more on the great initiatives that students have done in the past year, is the idea behind the Student of the Year election, explains Wieneke Gunneweg in EM TV. Erasmus Magazine and Studium Generale are jointly organising this election. On Tuesday, the winner will be announced during The Bye Bye Show, the unofficial closing of the academic year.
Because of the various initiatives of the five finalists and other students, Gunneweg thinks this was ‘the year of the student’. She thinks for instance about the students who wanted to share their stories about sexual violence. It takes courage to share this.
They also dwelled on the fact that the student freelancers were able to work at EM’s office again. “Working with students is perhaps the best part of this job”, says the editor-in-chief of EM.
