Various student associations decorated their stalls on campus to the last detail to welcome the new international students. The joy is noticeable among the students during the first day of the Eurekaweek. Business student Arina Karelskaia can’t wait to make new friends. “I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone,” she says with a big smile.
New adventure
Austina Tarvydaite is very enthusiastic, but at the same time a bit nervous about her first weeks in Rotterdam. “I haven’t found a room yet. Fortunately, I was able to arrange a temporary accommodation, but I’m still looking.” But that should not spoil the fun. The Management of International Social Challenges student happily chats with everyone. “I hope to make a lot of friends here, because I really came alone and don’t know anyone yet.”
Milan Singh from Luxembourgh just arrived in Rotterdam a few hours ago. He is starting the International Bachelor Business and Business Economics. “I did everything a bit last minute, I only packed my suitcase at home this morning, for instance. But I’m here now, so everything will be fine,” he says. His first plan? “Find a great student association. I would like to join it.”
Water taxi and Amsterdam
What do the students like to do in the Netherlands? “Try the water taxi and visit Amsterdam,” says economics student Rebecca Panlilio. Business Administration student Larissa Moraes: “I especially want to make as many friends as possible with people from all over the world.”
