Parliamentary questions about phone as second camera during proctoring

MPs Lammert van Raan and Eva van Esch from the Party for the Animals submitted questions about EUR’s decision to use a second camera during proctoring. They are asking the Minister to rein in EUR and to stop the use of proctoring software. They also want to know how the use of proctoring fits with privacy legislation and whether it is still possible to organise in-person examinations safely.

Just before the Christmas holiday, the Executive Board decided that students from all faculties must use a second camera during online examinations with proctoring. Students would use their phones for this. The university hopes that this will help prevent fraud during online examinations.

 

Earlier this week, the Party for the Animals had already tabled parliamentary questions about a data breach at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, where journalists had been able to watch students doing exams in their rooms.
