The RSM mission statement was particularly important to Nathan. In his own words: “RSM likes to make the world a better place with the social and ecological challenges ahead by providing students the knowledge and tools through research, education and engagement. Which they can use in their future companies, businesses or consultancy.“
In the short time that Nathan has been with us at IBA, at RSM, he has made friends – many friends, with IBA and Bedrijfskunde students alike. He did this being a friendly guy, with a warm and open mind, genuinely interested in the other. One of his close friends let us know that when they joined a party where they did not know anyone, most of these parties ended with Nathan being friends with everyone. The IBA community is losing a member with a zest for life and full of ambition, who will leave a gap behind.
Our thoughts are with his parents, his twin brother and his other family members, and also with his close friends with whom he lived in an apartment in Kralingen. We wish them the strength to bear this sudden loss.
We have created a Memorial Room for Nathan in the Faculty Lounge in the Mandeville Building, Room T4-99-08. This room will be open all working days from 09.00 – 19.00 hours (not Saturdays and Sundays). You are welcome to leave a personal message, flowers or the like, to burn a candle (preferably a waxine light) and there will also be a condolence book in which a short message can be written. The online condolence register is https://vanderspekuitvaart.nl/memoria – name: Nathan; code: DJKX245.
The funeral will be held on 7 December at noon in the Laurenskerk, on invitation only.
With kind regards,
Ansgar Richter (Dean) and Adri Meijdam (Executive Director IBA)
