Swan stuck at UL’s skyway for hours

A mute swan was stuck for hours at the skyway between the Theil Building and the University Library. The poor animal got stuck at about 7.30 o’clock, said an EFR member who could see the bird from the society’s boardroom.
It seems likely that the swan crashed into a window, thus injuring its left wing and being unable to get away. It made a few attempts to fly away, but was unable to do so.
The animal rescue service took the animal to Vogelklas, a bird rescue centre where the swan will be treated. Things are looking good. “The wing was not broken, so we will not have to put the swan to sleep,” said an animal rescuer. “It will be able to return to the campus in the not-too-distant future.”
