Car park payment problems nearly solved

A solution may be in sight to the problems which have lately plagued the automated payment machines in the underground car park at Erasmus Plaza. According to the University Support Centre (USC), the system will be tested on Friday and should be up and running again by Saturday.
The system has been out of order since Monday, 31 May, when it was struck by lightning. As a result, the payment machine network was not functioning properly. The system was supposed to be in working order again in just a few days, only for resumption of service to be delayed until Friday, 10 June.
Total costs unknown
Ever since 31 May, drivers have been able to park their cars free of charge. The total costs incurred by the university due to the problem are not yet known.
