FAECTOR and HRO win 2016 Students’ Cup

Last Friday, the gentlemen of the econometrics association FAECTOR took home the gold at the Excelsior Students’ Cup, beating out STAR. In the Ladies pool, HRO pocketed the title. Their team bested Antibarbari in the finals.
This year brought the fourth edition of the Students’ Cup. All in all, 17 male teams and 9 female squads competed for the title of Rotterdam’s best student football team.

Excelsior4All
The Students’ Cup is one of the numerous social activities organised by Excelsior4All. This foundation aims to stimulate participation in sports, education, reintegration and public safety in Rotterdam.
According to Niels Redert, Excelsior4All’s CSR Officer, Excelsior itself can also benefit from the tournament: “At least once a year, we want to introduce Excelsior to the EUR students, since we believe they could well become our club’s future supporters – and possibly sponsors.”
Anniversary edition
The Students’ Cup will definitely be celebrating its fifth anniversary next year. “We hope that next year, every student association in Rotterdam will be entering a team. This will allow the tournament to grow further”, says Redert.
