Fill your summer holiday with …extra lectures. This summer, you can do that during the Rotterdam Summer School.
In other countries, these summer programmes or summer schools are very popular. In the Netherlands, more and more universities are introducing such programmes, including Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The summer programme isn’t completely new, says Ad Hofstede, director of the Erasmus Academy and quartermaster of the Rotterdam Summer School. “Some faculties and departments at Erasmus University already organised individual summer courses. The difference this year is that we’ve got everything in one place.”
From yoga to marketing
Here you will also find the courses offered by Codarts and the Willem de Kooning Academy, as the Rotterdam Summer School is actually a collaboration between the various Rotterdam institutions. That produces a really varied range of courses. From Creative and innovative thinking to Urban innovation and International marketing and logistics to yoga.
The courses are given between June and August and last 1 or 2 weeks. The costs are between 550 and 1000 euros. Students and professionals can register right up until the summer. Until the end of March, the Rotterdam Summer School guarantees accommodation, but after that participants must arrange their own accommodation.
You can find more information about the Rotterdam Summer School at their website.
