The Executive Board has again appointed Professor Steef van de Velde as dean at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM). His new term in office will start on 1 September 2015.
Professor Van de Velde has been dean at RSM since 2011, and will be reappointed for another four years. ‘I’m very proud that they’ve asked me to run this wonderful faculty for another term,’ he says. ‘The resulting continuity will help us pursue our present strategy.’ The dean aims to preserve RSM’s ‘solid academic foundation’ and ‘increase the impact and relevance of research at the faculty’ over the next four years.
He is of the opinion that RSM will have to become ‘one of the very best business schools to work at’ in order to achieve these aims. He also wants to take further steps in the internationalisation process, such as opening an RSM office in China and providing a curriculum in Germany. Another part of the dean’s strategy is to develop supply chain management into one of RSM’s major specialisations. ES
