Ernest van der Kwast will start the evening with a warm ode to the knitting grandmother Joke Groot and Cisca Tuinder from Granny’s Finest. He will then enter into a dialogue with journalist Mark Hoogstad and political columnist Marianne van den Anker (also former security alderman for Leefbaar Rotterdam) about the impending municipal elections. The battle in Rotterdam – the epicenter of the local elections – has now broken loose, with much-discussed parties such as PVV and DENK. The two guests will clarify the local political landscape with their critical gaze.
Sjarel Ex, director of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen , talks about the three to four-year renovation and closure of the museum. As a result of asbestos in the building and overdue maintenance, remediation from 2019 is necessary. This means that the collection will be shown elsewhere in the city, but where? And what about the opening of the new Depot?
Kees Moeliker of the Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam will give the mini lecture. The Rotterdam band Bonne Aparte, one of the most brutal and groundbreaking bands from the low countries, will give a preview of their second album SCALPS
