Wieneke Gunneweg

Wieneke Gunneweg is editor-in-chief of Erasmus Magazine and therefore responsible for the organisation and content of everything EM. She loves university journalism because it allows you to work closely with the people you write about.

Elmer Smaling

Elmer Smaling is deputy editor-in-chief. He is a regular reporter for the University Council and specialises in stories about freedom and safety on campus. Besides that, he proofreads articles and videos and mentors talented students in their journalistic work. He is also responsible for the development of the EM website.

Tessa Hofland

Editor Tessa Hofland is enthusiastic about stories that make you look at society differently. A series featuring students with disabilities, accompanying law enforcement officers who protect both the peace and young students in Kralingen, interviews with young carers, and an investigative story about the difficulty of expelling unsuitable medical students.

Feba Sukmana

Feba Sukmana is an editor. She enjoys writing about students and education, but personal stories appeal to her most. She completed her Dutch Studies degree at Leiden University. In addition to her work for EM, she writes and conducts research on (post)colonial history.

Nora van der Schoor

Nora van der Schoor is a video editor. She films reports on everything that concerns students in Rotterdam and supervises student freelancers who are taking their first steps in video journalism. She previously worked as a video journalist for the local broadcaster in Rotterdam, the city where she was born and raised.

Esther Dijkstra

Esther Dijkstra is an editorial assistant and art director. She considers this to be a perfect combination. She enjoys organising all kinds of matters, but she is truly satisfied when EM’s stories are accompanied by high-quality photographs and illustrations.

Tim Ficheroux

Desk editor Tim Ficheroux is involved in a story from start to finish, and enjoys polishing it until it reads well. He mentors students with journalistic ambitions and professional freelancers, and loves all journalistic genres, from beautiful reports and personal stories to in-depth investigations.
