Some students resort to AI to find study announcements: ‘It gave me fake information’
A survey done by the university reveals that half of students struggle to find relevant study information on the various university platforms. They feel that they’re getting too much information, and that they can’t find what they’re looking for.
“I couldn’t really find the information that I was looking for, so I went to ChatGPT and Gemini,” says Noa, a first-year IBA student. “But it gave me some fake information, so I had to ask my friends about it.”
Other students also get a lot of their information from other students. “I feel like without speaking to the others, I would miss a lot of what’s going on,” said Davide, a master’s student in Digitalisation in work and society. Yet the information they get from their classmates can also be misleading. For example, Lion, a second-year IBA student, missed a quiz because he did not double-check the information he got from his friends: “That was terrible because it really influenced my grade.” He can laugh about it now.
