EM TV newsflash: Too many internationals, too many information platforms and more collaboration with the military

Every Monday, an overview of the most important news from Erasmus University. This week: IBA and IBEB have to shrink because the university admitted 150 international students more than allowed last year. Half of the students can’t find relevant information about their study and universities want to intensify their collaboration with the military.

The Erasmus University failed to reduce the number of international students. Last year, they admitted 150 students more than allowed, according to their own agreements with other universities to prevent the government from cutting the numbers itself. International Business Administration and International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics must strictly reduce their intake of students next year as a ‘penalty’.

Half of the students can’t always find relevant information about their study programmes, a survey finds. The biggest complaint is that they receive way too much information. And universities throughout the country want to work together more with the Dutch military. They want to conduct research such as studies about war technologies and ptsd in soldiers.
