How to make sure you can find EM news on Google

Gepubliceerd op:

Google has introduced the feature ‘Preferred sources’ in the Netherlands. This lets you choose which news sources you see first in the search results. By default you often see national media, but fans of academic news can now also select their favourite university paper.

If you set Erasmus Magazine as a preferred source, our articles will appear more often on Google’s front page or in the news search. That way you will always be up to date with the latest news about Erasmus University.

How do you set this up?

It’s easy to do in two steps.

  1. Go to the Google page ‘Source preferences‘ and search for ‘Erasmus Magazine’ to add us.
  2. Then click ‘Go to Google Search’.

Your preferences are now saved.

You can add multiple sources, so you can also add other outlets you consider reliable. This could help filter out all kinds of clickbait sites and AI-generated nonsense from your Google results.

Want to see Erasmus Magazine news in more places? Then subscribe to our weekly newsletter, follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook or BlueSky, or look at the screens in the hall of the Van der Goot building.
