Every week an overview of the most important news about the Erasmus University. This week: A PhD candidate’s contract is terminated over a conflict over Gaza. He believes that his supervisor and a professor made unacceptable statements about Palestinians. The university says the PhD candidate violated the code of conduct. Also, fewer international students could cost the economy billions, and EM journalist Tessa Hofland is nominated for the National Prize for Education Journalism for her article ‘Why it is so difficult to expel unsuitable medical students’.
