CEMS in action for education in Africa
Every year RSM’s Master International Management/CEMS supports a fundraising project for a good cause. This year the ‘Schools for Africa’ project was chosen.
It is a joint initiative between UNICEF, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and the Hamburg Society for the Promotion of Democracy and International Law.
The project aims to increase access, as well as increase the quality of education for children in six African countries. CEMS, specifically, will support schools in Rwanda and Mozambique. Proper education is a foundation for the long-term development of society and more children in this world should have access to good quality education.
Of course, CEMS needs your help raising the money. Different events are therefore organized by the CEMS Humanitarian Committee throughout the semester which will raise money. Firstly, at ‘Active for Africa’ you will see how you can have fun and at the same time help African children go to school.
‘Dancing for Africa’ is another fun event; this party will take place on the 4th of November 2009 at Cinema. In addition, ‘Running for Africa’, a Christmas run, will be organized in the first week of December. And lastly you are invited to enjoy ‘Feeling the X-mas time’. Cookies and Glühwein will be sold during the December month; don’t miss it! CEMS is looking forward to meeting you at the events – you will see flyers and hear people talking about it. Be part of it!
