German student receives 15-year cycling ban
A 24-year old student from the German town of Giessen has been banned from riding his bicycle for fifteen years. This extraordinary ruling followed a drunken bike ride by the student last year.
Christopher Hahn went to a party and had a few drinks. On his way home, he was breathalised by the German police during an alcohol test. His blood alcohol level was too high at 0.171 percent and he was given a fivehundred euro fine.
Psychological test
However, as with all driving-under-the-influence offences in Germany, the student was forced to undergo a pshycological test which would cost him at least another fivehundred euro. Hahn refused the test therefore and was subsequently banned from riding his bicycle for fifteen years. Each time he is caught riding a bike will cost him 25 euro. HOP
