EM TV newsflash: Faculties need to cluster, queer staff of colour don’t always feel safe and Erasmus MC nominated for award
Every week an overview of the most important news about the Erasmus University. This week: The university is going to cluster the faculties. These so-called ‘academic powerhouses’ should make the university more resilient for threats like the declining numbers of students and more budget cuts.
The ESE and RSM will become Economics & Management. Erasmus MC and Erasmus ESHPM will form Medical & Health Sciences. And the ESSB, the ESHCC and the ESPhil will become the cluster Social & Humanities. The ESL and the ISS will be so-called ‘cross-cutting’ faculties. The plan should be more concrete by 2028
Also, the university is sometimes less inclusive for its queer employees of colour than large business companies according to ESSB researcher Alex Huang found. And Erasmusarts 2030, EMC;’s new Medicine degree programme, has been nominated for the Dutch Education awards and could win 1.2 million euros.
