A bachelor’s student in Psychology now pays almost 14,000 euros for an academic year, whereas in 2022 it was still less than 7,000 euros. An advisory committee proposes raising that amount by 9 percent.

Non-European students are experiencing financial stress: “My father sold his apartment, and now considers selling his car”, says Adelya, a Russian student International Business Administration (IBA). Audy, an Indonesian IBA student: “I’m considering dropping out because of the high costs.” Both students pay 15,200 euros per year for their bachelor’s. Audy is now unsure about a master’s: “My parents did not expect this increase in costs.”
