Dirty bathrooms on campus: ‘I feel bad for the people that have to clean’
Toilets around campus aren’t always exactly clean. An annual satisfaction survey conducted by the University Library pointed out concerns about the cleanliness of the library’s little rooms. Students also complained about the Polak building’s bathrooms, but praised the cleanliness of Theil’s bathrooms. EM asked around campus which bathrooms are the worst.
While many students named Polak and the Library as having the dirtiest bathrooms, they also shared their go-to bathrooms. “I love the FoodPlaza bathroom”, one student says, explaining that it’s ideal because “there’s no one in there.” The downstairs toilets in Theil also received positive feedback, with students describing them as “usually empty and clean.”
“Clean up your mess. Don’t leave your bottles and papers behind”, one student urged. She pointed out that if everyone made an effort to dispose of their trash in the many available bins, the bathrooms wouldn’t be so dirty. Another student highlights the extra work that it creates for the cleaning staff, saying that she ‘feels bad for the people that have to clean’.
