RSC/RVSV features pets in the yearbook: ‘Our fish arrived here in a shopping cart’
Around 45 pets from student houses of the RSC/RVSV student association are being photographed on animal day. “Animals are just as important as people and deserve a place in our yearbook.”
Throughout the day, mostly first-year students arrive at society Walhalla with their household pets—dogs, cats, fish, turtles, and even a pet chicken. “I came here on a shared scooter with our dog Zoef”, says the youngest member of student house De Hooivlooi. His fellow student joined to get Robert the cat in the picture.
This is the fifth year that the student corps takes photos of their pets for the Almanac. “We thought: pets are actually just as important as the people who live in the house. They deserve a spot in the book as well”, says Casper Mulder from the Almanac committee.
“It’s really great that all the animals are put in the spotlight!” says the owner of little dog Juan. “They can all come here to the society together. At Lusthof, students were walking around with their dogs and cats”, says a student holding turtles Donatello and Jean-Claude. “Isn’t that wonderful?”
