The 2023 collective labour agreement (cao) stipulates that from 2024 onwards, the end-of-year bonus for staff will be paid in November. This year, however, the calculation will be based on eleven months instead of twelve, meaning employees will receive a lower amount as December is not included. From next year onwards, the payment will return to normal, with the calculation spanning from November to November.
EUR staff are entitled to an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent of their earned salary. The cao for Dutch universities also specifies a minimum amount for this bonus.
