Let’s Talk… Where do you dispose of your bulky waste?

Students moved out en masse in August and September. Around campus and in Kralingen, old mattresses, slatted bed bases and piles of boxes are littering the streets. Do you also just throw your bulky waste on the street? Did you know that the municipality can collect your bulky waste? Or do you like looking for treasures among other people’s dumped stuff? Share your – literal – dirty secrets with us!

From mid-August to mid-September, when most students move out, municipal inspectors often find furniture and boxes on the streets. Especially in Kralingen, there are fixed spots where bulky waste is dumped every year. So, we ask: how do you deal with waste? Do you take bulky waste to a collection point yourself or do you have it picked up by the municipality? And when you see bulky waste on the street, do you ever look to see if there are still usable items among them?
