On Thursday 11 April, Fouad L., suspect in the attack on Erasmus MC, will stand trial again. The hearing will be about the psychological examination at the Pieter Baan Centre and requests from lawyers.

During the hearing, the status of the investigation at the Pieter Baan Centrum into Fouad L.’s mental state will be discussed. He had been under observation there since 1 February to see whether he has a mental disorder and whether he was fully culpable during the shooting incident in which three people were killed. Whether this investigation has already been completed is not yet known.
Furthermore, Fouad L.’s defence can call witnesses or submit investigation requests. The public prosecutor may object if necessary, after which the judge will decide whether the wishes will be granted.
Full house
The Rotterdam District Court again expects a full room in the extra-security courtroom, a spokesman announced. Whether Fouad L. will appear himself is not yet known. The suspect has until Thursday morning to make up his mind. He did not attend the previous hearing in January.
Fouad L. is suspected of shooting his neighbour and neighbour’s girl to death, shooting Erasmus MC lecturer Jurgen Damen and setting fire to the Education Centre of the Faculty of Medicine. He has been detained since the events on 28 September.
