Home worker Ana Sandoval: ‘I have a mobile office’
Lecturer and researcher Ana Uribe Sandoval doesn’t have a designated workplace at home. “I teach online classes from various rooms in my house,” she tells us. “My home office is mobile.”
Ana shares her home with her partner and their 2-year-old son. “Of course it’s a bit of a challenge, working while looking after a child,” she says. For this reason, she tries to use her time creatively. For instance, she will answer her e-mails while her son is taking his afternoon nap.
Her tip for her colleagues who are working from home: “Regularly switch up your workplace if you’re no longer comfortable where you are. You’ll get an energy boost from being in a different room.”
