Coronavirus: Erasmus MC stops large-scale lectures
The corona epidemic is now having an impact on education at the medical faculty too. From Friday, Erasmus MC will no longer be teaching groups of more than thirty students. Education involving physical contact will also be discontinued.

Furthermore, students are not recommended to come to the Education Centre at the hospital for self-study. According to dean Maarten Frens, the measure is necessary to ‘prevent worse’.
“We realise that you may be concerned about compulsory education and testing,” Frens wrote in an e-mail to the students of the medical faculty. “However, we are looking for suitable solutions for each programme and alternative forms of education. We will inform you about this as soon as possible.”

For more information, Frens asks students to check the special information page every day for updates on education and exams and for any new rules and guidelines. As far as is known, the measures don’t apply yet to the other faculties of the university yet. The medical faculties in Groningen and Leiden previously announced that they would discontinue education.
