Knives
When the student asked them to stop singing, the men started pushing her. “Then they pulled out knives and said they would tear up the corona virus. The next thing I know is that I woke up on the floor with some injuries.”
The Dutch student, who – according to other media – has Chinese roots, suffered a concussion and cuts after the incident. She has officially reported the abuse. The Tilburg police have started an investigation and are looking for witnesses.
Discrimination
The corona carnival song was created and broadcast by a radio DJ from the commercial channel Radio 10. Hundreds of people reported discrimination regarding this song. The Public Prosecution Service is currently investigating whether the DJ can be prosecuted, by judging if the lyrics of the song is punishable.
