Red Bull and cigarettes, these freshmen are ready for their new life
For many students, the ceremony was also their very first introduction to the harbor city, as lengthy lines of luggage-carrying students could be seen standing at the entrance. In addition to the usual speeches, there were performances by the Erasmus Dance Society, the Erasmus Music Collective and a stuntman rolling around in a big ring. And Bert Wijbenga, deputy mayor of Rotterdam, seized the opportunity to continue lobbying to bring the Eurovision Song Contest to Ahoy: “What a beautiful place it is. Don’t you think it’s perfect for Eurovision?”
