Nobel prize for the fathers of immunotherapy
This year the Nobel Prize for Medicine was awarded in Sweden to the fathers of immunotherapy. Years ago, the American James P. Allison and the Japanese Tasuku Honjo discovered the molecular basis upon which the immunotherapy is based, says oncologist Arjen Joosse in Studio Erasmus. Their findings have brought a huge change in the treatment of cancer. What is immunotherapy and what is the difference with chemotherapy?
