IHS International Sports Day 2013
Capoeira, soccer, darts, chess; this Saturday all in and around the Erasmus Sports building, people were being active. The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) organized the annual International Sports Day. Winner this year: the Delft team from the Institute for Water Education (IHE).
Since 1980 the ‘SAIL Institutes’ have been organizing this event. Participating institutes include the Institute of Social Studies The Hague (ISS), Radio Nederland Training Centrum Hilversum (RNTC), the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation Enschede (ITC), the UNESCO – IHE Institute for water education in Delft and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies Rotterdam (IHS). Last year, because of the crisis, the International Sports Day was skipped. This year IHS, celebrating its 55 years anniversary, took the initiative to start again and pick up the tradition. Approximately 400 students and professionals from developing countries like Indonesia, Brazil and African countries who are joining an exchange program, were present. A picture report. SvdM
